Today's Northfield is rural in character. The many attractions it and the region offers visitors are presented in detail under our "Things to Do" tab.
For international travelers in particular, a car is essential for getting around Northfield and the Pioneer Valley. Our closest airports are Boston's Logan and Bradley International in Hartford. In January 2015 when we write this, few taxi companies operate between Greenfield and Northfield and they are expensive. Centennial House serves breakfast (only), and while the area has many fine restaurants, cafes closest to the inn serve casual food until around 8 p.m. So when traveling here from abroad for school visits, be sure to rent a car or engage reliable transportation to get to and from the inn, the schools and area amenities before you arrive.
